The hotel is tastefully decorated, is spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The staff were wonderful, the beach was gorgeous and the location of the hotel was good. We were on half-board and enjoyed the food in the main restaurant, where the service was very good. We ate at the a-la-carte Blu restaurant one lunchtime and the food was excellent.

Everything went very smoothly, from the pick up at the airport to the choice of hotel - Gabbiano Azzurro - which was in a splendid position. We cannot praise our Rep, Margaret, highly enough. We are very well travelled and have met many Reps over the years and she is the best one we have ever had. She went the extra mile (literally) and drove us into town to show us how far we would have to walk from the hotel (not too far) and then waited at a local supermarket to enable us to buy some bottled water. Nor did she try to sell us any tours, etc., which was an added bonus.

Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel has Classic, Compact, Comfort and Superior rooms plus 8 Junior Suites arranged on 3 floors serviced by 2 lifts. There is a choice of double/twin rooms with en suite bath and/or shower room, air conditioning, safe, minibar, satellite TV, WiFi, telephone and balcony, most with wonderful sea views (supplement).
Classic Room (20m2 + 4m2 balcony, sleeping up to 3) double/twin bedroom with space for an extra bed, en suite shower room and furnished balcony with views of Golfo Aranci.
Compact Sea View Room (15m2, sleeping 2) double/twin bedroom, en suite shower room and furnished balcony with sea views.
Comfort Sea View Room (20m2 + 4m2 balcony, sleeping up to 3) double/twin bedroom with space for an extra bed, en suite bath and/or shower room and furnished balcony with sea views.

What dining & bar options are available?
The hotel is built in traditional Sardinian style around the pool and gardens with sea views from the restaurant and bar. There is a spacious reception lounge with a bar and outside terrace.
The main restaurant offers a buffet breakfast and Beach RistoBar which serves lunch and snacks (extra cost). An à la carte dinner by candlelight is available in the Blu Restaurant with outside terrace (extra cost) if weather permits.
What facilities, activities & experiences are available?
The infinity swimming pool has a surrounding terrace overlooking the sea, furnished with sunbeds and parasols and the hotel has a massage room and small fitness area with exercise equipment.
A pathway leads to the beautiful semi-private sandy beach with clear turquoise sea, shallow for a long way out, ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Sunbeds and parasols are available for guests (extra cost except Pool Suites guests) from 06/06-20/09, book and pay locally: €60 for 2 sunbeds + 1 parasol in the first row and €40 for the other rows).
Where is the resort located?
Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites is situated within walking distance of the small town of Golfo Aranci where there is a small selection of shops, café bars, restaurants and pizzerias. There is a fisherman's port and fish market and Golfo Aranci is home to the Bottlenose Dolphin Research Institute (dolphin watching excursions available from reception). Scuba diving can be arranged and there are various walks and trails from the hotel or trekking with a guide (extra cost) to visit Tombe dei Giganti (Giants tombs) and the nearby Nuraghe.
The hotel is a 6km scenic drive from both the prestigious marina development of Porto Rotondo and 35km from Porto Cervo in the heart of the Costa Smeralda, with beautiful beaches and emerald sea for which Sardinia is renowned.

Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites is a great family run hotel with a stunning beach location and only a 21km transfer from Olbia Airport.
It has been well described as a traditional hotel, and with its friendly service, excellent restaurant, and panoramic views and sunsets, it has all the ingredients for a successful holiday for couples and families alike.
There is a pool with shallow area for children and sandy beach, with amazing clear turquoise sea gently shelving and shallow for a long way out.
The Gabbiano Azzurro is an excellent base to explore the local area and visit the Costa Smeralda. Car hire recommended.
