Watersports
Sardinia’s fantastic coastline provides endless opportunities for watersports from basic pedaloes and canoes to international yachting on the Costa Smeralda. If you are a novice looking to learn or an improver/expert wishing to hire equipment, there are watersports centres on the beaches near some hotels.

Windsurfing
For the dedicated windsurfer, kite surfer and sailor, Porto Pollo (Puddu) between Santa Teresa and Palau on the north east coast has a double bay with waves and flat water sailing and three very good hire and tuition centres.
Golf
Some spectacular courses are to be found in Sardinia to experience the contrast of the lush green fairways against the bright blue sky whilst enjoying superb sea views:
Il Pevero Golf Course on the Costa Smeralda can be described as one of the world’s most beautiful golf courses with sweeping sea and coastal views.
Puntaldia Golf Club at Due Lune Resort Golf & Spa on the east coast: Scenic coastal 9 hole course, driving range, putting green, club house & pro-shop.
Is Molas Golf Course near Santa Margherita di Pula has unique views of the Roman ruins of Nora and turquoise bay, coupled with impeccably kept lawns offering an unforgettable golfing experience.
Some of our hotels offer golf facilities with either Pitch & Putt facilities, putting or chipping greens or mini golf.
Scuba Diving
Sardinia’s clear waters, rocky coastline and islands offer great scuba diving for all levels and diving in the warm waters of the Mediterranean is definitely the way to have a go! Alghero is a good base for year round diving in deep sea with many caverns to explore. In the north east and the south, where marine life abounds, there are many dive schools (some operating from some of our hotels) offering taster sessions for beginners, courses for those wishing to gain their PADI dive qualification and dive trips for qualified divers.
Surfing
Surprisingly, Sardinia is also known for its surfing. Locals will not necessarily tell you of their 'secret spots', however the breaks can be found on most of the coastline at some point in the year: Porto Ferro north of Alghero, Isola Rossa and Vignola on the north west coast, Pula in the south west, Villasimius in the south east and Oristano on the west coast. Of course, like anywhere, the surf is very weather dependent and is unlikely in July and August. The low season is the best time to bring your wetsuit and find those waves! If you don't wish to risk your precious weapon of choice to the mercy of the airlines, there is a surf shop in Sassari where they hire out reasonable boards.
Tennis & Padel
Tennis and Padel courts are available at many of our accommodations. At the Cervo Hotel there is a Tennis Club with 5 floodlit courts. Forte Village has 13 tennis courts (12 clay and 1 synthetic), all floodlit for night use, and a Tennis Academy (11/05-01/11) with coaching from internationally ranked tennis stars, plus there are also 3 Padel tennis courts with lessons and Padel Academy available for adults (11/05-01/11).
Football
Adults and children can join in a game of football at some of our resort hotels. At Forte Village there is a full size pitch, five-a-side pitches and Soccer school with Real Madrid FC coaches for children 4-13yrs (27/05-06/09 and 25/10-01/11) Accommodation with 5-a-side pitches include:
Rugby, Netball & Hockey
Forte Village offers Legends Rugby, Netball & Hockey Academy for children 5-16 years (24/05-31/05, 05/07-19/07 and 16/08-30/08, subject to change) including England former international rugby union players Martin Johnson, Ben Youngs and Austin Healey; England former netball international players Tamsin Greenway and Serna Guthrie; Former GB Hockey gold medallists including Susannah Townsend (May & October).
Horse Riding
There are some beautiful bridleways along the coast, with the opportunity of riding on the beach, and in the Sardinian countryside to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Some of our hotels in the north have their own riding schools and in the south horse riding can be arranged from some hotels too.
