This small hotel was created from an old seafaring house so the guest rooms have been designed to reflect the colours of the sea.  The light and bright rooms all have white and blue decor with kingsize bed, desk, air conditioning, safe, minibar, WiFi, smart TV, bluetooth speaker, telephone and en suite shower room with bathrobe, slippers, hairdryer and beach towels.

The privé area, the exclusive rooftop of the relais, is divided in two areas where guests can relax during the day and enjoy aperitifs in the evening.  An international and Italian breakfast is served daily and the bar offers cocktails, champagnes, drinks and tasty platters with a views over the sea. The sun terrace has comfortable sofa's to relax and there is a small pool to cool off. 
There is a 24/7 reception with multilingual staff offering hotel and local information, tours and boat trips designed to discover the wonder of south western Sardinia. The hotel is located in the cove of La Caletta with small beach, ideal for swimming.

Relais La Ghinghetta Hotel takes its name from the lighthouse built in 1912 standing on a rock of the same name near the marina of Portoscuso. The hotel is located in the cove of La Caletta with small beach, near the old tuna processing factory. The bigger beach of Portopaglieto is 800m from the hotel with beach cafe and restaurant overlooking the sea. 
The small town of Portoscuso has a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants, the closest Sa Musciara is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Founded by the Spanish as a fishing village at the end of the 16th century, with the name of Puerto Escuso or 'hidden port', this town later became an important trading hub and the imposing 16th century tower still dominates part of the skyline, adding to the character of this little town.
Portoscuso is best known for its tuna fishing, a trade that has its own local festival. Today the tuna trap is still used each year between May and June. Portoscuso overlooks the Sulcis archipelago which includes islands such as San Pietro and Sant'Antioco which can be accessed by ferry to visit Carloforte and Calasetta respectively.
